A vibrant Greek port, still with a big view
Alexandroupolis buzzes where Thrace meets the sea — a two-kilometre seafront promenade full of cafés and ouzeries, a landmark lighthouse, and sandy beaches a short drive in either direction. Just south, the Evros Delta shelters some of Europe's richest birdlife, and the city's harbour is the mainland gateway to Samothraki. A city that moves — slow mornings at the kafenio, afternoons on the sand, evenings by the water.
Buzzing without being brash — real Thracian energy, just the right scale: lively enough for a proper night out, relaxed enough for a family lunch.
