Ethnological Museum of Thrace

Founded in 2002 by Angeliki Giannakidou as a self-funded, non-profit institution, the museum is housed in a stone neoclassical building from 1899 — one of the few in the city still honouring that era's architecture.

The collection runs to 5,000 items, of which around 500 are on display: traditional Thracian dress, music, pottery, and photographs spanning the late 17th to early 20th century, organised around historical events and agricultural life. A café on site serves local dishes as part of the museum's effort to showcase Thracian gastronomy alongside its material culture.
